FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Customs & duty

Will I be asked to pay customs duty?
No. We ship duty paid and clear the parcel ourselves. The price on the product page is the whole price. If a notice reaches you anyway, forward it to us and we settle it.

Is the duty included in the price I see?
Yes. There is nothing added at checkout for duty, and nothing asked for at your door.

Sizing & made to measure

Does made to measure cost extra?
No. Pick a size XS to XXL, or pick 'Made to measure' on the product page. Same price.

What measurements do you need?
Four numbers: bust, waist, hip and height. After you order we email a one-page guide with photographs showing exactly how to take them.

What if I send the wrong measurements?
We read them back to you in writing before anything is cut. Nothing is stitched until you reply 'yes'.

Delivery

How fast will my order arrive?
Ready-to-ship sizes leave our atelier in 2 to 3 business days and reach you in a further 5 to 9. Made to measure is 4 to 6 weeks door to door.

I have a wedding date. Will it arrive in time?
Tell us the date when you order. We will confirm in writing whether we can make it, and if we cannot we will say so before taking your money.

What does shipping cost?
Orders of $1,000 or more — which is every bridal piece — ship free by worldwide express. Anything under $1,000 is a flat $4.95.

Do you ship outside the US?
Yes. The UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman are a main market for us, along with the UK, Canada, Australia and much of western Europe.

Returns

What is your return policy?
Ready-to-ship bridal: exchange or store credit within 7 days, unworn and with tags on. Made to measure: final sale, because it is cut for one person. Non-bridal items: 30 days for a full refund.

What if it arrives damaged or wrong?
Send a photograph within 48 hours and we repair, remake or refund in full — including made-to-measure pieces — and we pay the return shipping.

The pieces

Is the embroidery really done by hand?
Yes, every motif, in our own atelier in India. That is why the work sits slightly raised off the fabric and why no two pieces are identical.

Where are your pieces made?
India, start to finish, in our own atelier.

How should I care for it?
Dry clean only, by a cleaner experienced with heavy embroidery. Store folded in cotton or muslin, never in plastic, and keep the dupatta rolled rather than creased.

Payment

Is checkout secure?
Yes. Payments are processed over an encrypted connection and we never see or store your card details.
